Motorola Moto Edge 30 Ultra
This is the latest and greatest phone from Motorola. It offers high-end specs, a great camera on paper, and a bunch of other bells and whistles. However, depending on where you live, it can be a bit hard to get your hands on it since it’s not yet available in all Western markets.
The Moto Edge 30 Ultra is the first phone with a 200MP primary camera. We haven’t tested it out yet, but it looks promising on paper. The handset also comes with Snapdragon’s flagship chipset, a 144Hz display, and 125W charging. There’s also 50W wireless charging on board.
It’s not an entirely new phone, since it already debuted in China in August. However, it goes under a different name in China — as well as other Asian countries — as it’s being called the Motorola X30 Pro.
Moto Edge 30 Ultra specs:
- Display: 6.67-inch, Full HD+
- SoC: Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1
- RAM: 8/12GB
- Storage: 128/256/512GB
- Camera: 200, 50, and 12MP
- Front camera: 60MP
- Battery: 4,610mAh
- Software: Android 12
Motorola ThinkPhone (2023)
Rugged phones aren’t usually very powerful. They’re also usually not made for business people. The Motorola ThinkPhone aims to lure business users with higher-end specs, a simple design with Lenovo’s professional touch, and both IP68 and MIL-STD-810H ratings. This means the phone can take quite the beating!
Internal specs include a capable Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 and up to 12GB of RAM. It also features a 6.6-inch Full HD+ display with a great 144Hz refresh rate. The battery is pretty large at 5,000mAh and you can charge it at 68W wired, or 15W wirelessly.
Not too bad, right? Especially for a rugged phone. The ThinkPhone is definitely one of the best Motorola phones you can get right now.
- Display: 6.6-inch, Full HD+
- SoC: Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1
- RAM: 8/12GB
- Storage: 128/256/512GB
- Camera: 50, 13, and 2MP
- Front camera: 32 and 16MP
- Battery: 5,000mAh
- Software: Android 13
Moto G Stylus 5G (2022)
Motorola has a few phones with a stylus available, but we think the Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) is the best one. We even called it an affordable Galaxy S22 Ultra alternative.
Its specs and features are nothing to write home about, but the performance is more than good enough for most people. The battery life is also great, and the software experience is quite clean since the UI is similar to stock Android. The stylus isn’t quite advanced as Samsung’s S Pen, but it still gets the job done.
There are a few issues worth pointing out, though. The cameras are a bit middling, the display is too dim for our liking, and the charging is slow, as it takes the battery 100 minutes to go from zero to full. But
Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) specs:
- Display: 6.8-inch Full HD+
- Chipset: Snapdragon 695
- RAM: 6/8GB
- Storage: 128/256GB
- Cameras: 50, 8, and 2MP
- Front camera: 16MP
- Battery: 5,000mAh
- Software: Android 12
Moto G Play (2023)
You can’t go wrong with a Moto G Play if you’re looking for the most bang you can get on fewer bucks. The 2023 version of the Moto G Play has a $169.99 MSRP, yet it still offers pretty good functionality.
For starters, the battery is humongous for such an affordable handset. It has a 5,000mAh battery that lasts for days. Even using it heavily, we got at least two days of battery life on a single charge.
That said, it is still an affordable handset and not much else is outstanding. The cameras aren’t great, the Helio G37 processor and 3GB of RAM aren’t the fastest, and the 6.5-inch display only has a 720p display, albeit with a pretty nice 90Hz refresh rate.
Moto G Play specs:
- Display: 6.5-inch HD+
- Chipset: MediaTek Helio G37
- RAM: 3GB
- Storage: 32GB
- Cameras: 16, 2, and 2MP
- Front camera: 5MP
- Battery: 5,000mAh
- Software: Android 12
Motorola Edge Plus (2022)
If you want a high-end device from Motorola, the Moto Edge Plus (2022) is one of your best bets. It’s a well-balanced device with powerful specs, an elegant and well-built design, and a price that keeps up with most flagships.
The Moto Edge Plus (2022) features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The battery is also pretty fair at 4,800mAh with excellent 68W wired charging. The camera isn’t going to change the game, but it’s nice to see a pair of 50MP options on a Motorola phone.
Keep in mind that this phone is branded as the Motorola Edge 30 Pro in various regions, including Europe and Latin America.
Edge Plus (2022) specs:
Display: 6.7-inch Full HD+
Chipset: Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
RAM: 8/12GB
Storage: 128/256/512G
Cameras: 50, 50, and 2MP
Front camera: 60MP
Battery: 4,800mAh
Software: Android 12
Motorola Edge 30 Fusion
Here’s another great higher-end device coming from Motorola. The Moto Edge 30 Fusion comes with a great design, as well as good internals to match.
Specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ chipset, which is getting older but is still very capable. The RAM maxes out at 12GB and storage can go up to 512GB. It has a triple-camera setup and a 6.55-inch Full HD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate.
We wish the battery was larger, as even budget phones come with at least 5,000mAh these days, but the 4,400mAh it comes with aren’t too bad.
Edge 30 Fusion specs:
- Display: 6.55-inch Full HD+
- Chipset: Snapdragon 888+
- RAM: 8/12GB
- Storage: 128/256/512GB
- Cameras: 50, 13, and 2MP
- Front camera: 32MP
- Battery: 4,400mAh
- Software: Android 12
